A product relevant to vulnerable road users. This project required extensive research, the collection of data then synthesised into common themes that are evident within the market, to work out if there is a potential gap in this space to launch our product.
Based on extensive research conducted, we discovered a gap in the market for cycling safety. Whilst there are many intellect systems for cars, there are little to no products in this area of safety for cyclists.
We also discovered that whilst people were aware of the 1m clearing distance rule on the road, people found it difficult to put into practice. We, therefore, launched Cycled: An LED light with an ultrasonic sensor that can detect when motor vehicles are too close to you on the road. This allows you to know when traffic is behind you, without needing to turn around.
